Winter is coming, how are your tires?

It’s time to give your tires a good inspection. It’s very simple for those that don’t know. Take a penny and hold Abe’s body between your thumb and forefinger. Select a point on your tire where tread appears the lowest and place Lincoln’s head into one of the grooves. If any part of Abe Lincoln’s head is covered by the tread, you’re driving with the legal and safe amount of tread. If your tread gets below that (approximately 2/32 of an inch), your car’s ability to grip the road in adverse conditions is greatly reduced (This info can be found on many tire dealer websites). Also, you want to look for any bulges or bubbles, dry rot or damage to the rims, and yes, look underneath on the inside of the tire and rim. Roads can really get crazy in the wintertime. If your tires can’t grip in the snow, you’ll learn really quick how good your insurance is. For all my brothers and sisters out there in the Military, tire buyer is providing you with 10% off your next purchase of tires. Give them a look!
